There are so many people who hate their jobs. They spend most of their weekdays for what they complain about. They use weekends to ‘recover’ from the damage the weekdays have done to them. I used to be one of them, just spending most of my time for what I didn’t like. It paid my bills, for sure, but at the end of the day, I was so exhausted and felt lost or trapped in where I was.
Would it be nice if you can do what you are passionate about for living?
When people look for a career change, their hopes for ‘better job’ rise. New industries start looking attractive to them and they hope the different industries or companies to be better place to work than where they currently work. They find a job in a new place, but after a while, a lot of them find the new job boring, pretty much the same as their previous job if it’s not worse. (then they start looking for a new job again.)
The problem here is those people have jobs that they are not happy doing. They don’t feel passionate about what they do, because their jobs are probably not suitable for their personalities. What makes this situation worse is this, they don’t know what they want to do with their lives or what they are truly passionate about. If fact, most people are sadly like this. The way most people are educated when they are young make us forget to explore what we really like. We are so used to follow the others or the given instructions, and do what we are supposed to be doing. That might have rewarded us good marks when we were at school, but by the time when we are adult, we lose the ability to discover what we really want to do.
When I found out about this, I didn’t know what my passion for life was. That was a sad feeling. I didn’t know my own personality, I didn’t know what I am good at. If you are like me, you are not alone. I suggest you to look for your true passion, because you want to be happy. You don’t want to be trapped in the job that you hate forever.
But how?? How about trying below?
1. list what you enjoy doing in your life until you absolutely have no idea what else to list
2. list what you think you are naturally good at
3. list what people around you thing you are naturally good at
The lists are only the beginning. I cannot stress enough that it is important to find your passion for your life, because you want to love your life. There are many other ways to discover who you are, one book I suggest to read is titled Do What You Are by Barbara Barron-Tieger. This helped me finding out who I really am. Apparently, some people take up to one year to find their passion. So act fast! If you want to end the job you hate. You will eventually find what you are. That will be the start of your beautiful life! Good luck!!
